Sugar Bears Inc. was established in 1996 by Barbara Gillies of Calgary Alberta. Barbara has been in the pottery industry for over twenty years and immediately recognized the value of her creation.

The Original Brown Sugar Bear™ are manufactured in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. We have successfully marketed the Brown Sugar Bear™ across Canada, the United States and into Europe.

The Original Brown Sugar Bear™ are made from a special clay and fired in an electric kiln. To use the brown Sugar Bear, the customer soaks it in water for 20 minutes and then puts it in their brown sugar container. It will then keep the sugar moist for approxiately three months, at which time it should be soaked again for 20 minutes and placed back into the sugar container. In short, the Brown Sugar Bear™ can be used over and over again.
