Retailers tend to sell the Brown Sugar Bear either in their
kitchenware, gourmet food sections or from small displays positioned
by their tills, for point of purchase sales.

- They are delighted at how easy it is to sell large numbers of
them.
- They are pleased at the small amount of space they take, compared
to the return on their money.
- There is minimal demand on the salesclerk's time due to the
signage and information labels included.
- The reasons why people buy them are varied - stocking stuffers,
hostess gifts, supplementary shower gifts, etc.
- Customers are, through word of mouth, coming into stores looking
for this product.
- Bears are an appropriate momento for visitors to Canada, given
Canada's reputation for wilderness areas.
